Why do we need heat-resistant cables?

Of course, in some cases, needed. Let’s see if such a cable is needed on ordinary vehicles?

It is known that the normal operating temperature of a running engine is in the range of 80 – 90 ° C, and in some it is maximum – 105 – 110 ° C. These parameters are provided by the cooling system of the internal combustion engine. The coolant is pumped into the channels of the cylinder block, and if this is not enough, then the fan is turned on, which blows air to the radiator and thereby further cools the engine.

Nevertheless, some organizations are trying to give notice of the exceptional qualities of their cables (read, to increase the price) in order to add value, in their price lists they declare the sale of temperature-resistant (heat-resistant) control cables.

For example, the company NITavto LLC announces the sale of: CableCraft cable / heat resistant

http://www.nitauto.ru/price.html

Usually the control cable sheath (casing) and the inside (liner) are made of polymers, they do not have a clear melting point – they gradually soften over a wide temperature range.
